Information about Flood and Water Management Scrutiny Committee

Mission Statement

As the Lead Local Flood Authority, Lincolnshire County Council seeks to represent all areas of the county on the Flood and Water Management Scrutiny Committee by ensuring representation of the balance of the Council, plus seven non-executive councillors, appointed by each of Lincolnshire’s seven district councils including ELDC.  The co-opted Members maintain full voting rights on the Committee, and replacement members are permitted.

The Committee is attended by senior representatives from the Flood and Water Team, Anglian Water and the Environment Agency, and the meetings provide an opportunity for Councillors to raise local concerns to these organisations.

ELDC is able to maintain involvement in the development of major strategic initiatives relating to water management, as well as the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and the Flood and Water Management Plan.
